and at 6 p.m. on Thursday the 21st of November, Archicantiores will be returning for a recital of words and music on the theme of ‘grief’ centred around The Shropshire Lad poetry sequence by A E Housman and the recently acknowledge poetry of Lara Munden.
This year there will be the usual Christmas tree inside St Mary Abchurch, and also, thanks to the City Corporation, one outside as well. The lights will be turned on on Tuesday the 19th of November at 5.30 p.m.
‘Incarnation’ means ‘embodiment in human flesh’.
Christmas is many things: A time for family and friends; a midwinter festival; and a celebration of Jesus' birth.
But it is also a celebration that God, who made the universe, has lived a human life: and if that is who Jesus is then everything else that Christmas is about pales into insignificance.
There will be a THIRD THURSDAY event on the 16th January at 6 p.m. Performance storytelling by Catherine Chadwick and Gill Larley with music by Patrick Larley.
